Four “Smart Giving” options
Many donors are now opting for “smart giving” non-cash options that not only support our mission but may also offer a variety of tax benefits.
The following Smart Giving options facilitate your donations of non-cash assets, including making a grant from a donor-advised fund (DAF), donating stock, making a Qualified Charitable Contribution, or donating cryptocurrency without the hassle of having to liquidate the assets yourself. Our “smart giving” Partner, FreeWill, will do that for you! They will track your gift, liquidate it where necessary (at no cost to you), send you the correct tax receipt, and you get the tax savings that you deserve.

Donor-Advised Funds
DAFs are investment accounts for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations during your lifetime. Use this secure DAF link to:
1. Automatically link your DAF to Felines & Friends NM
2. Allow you to recommend how you’d like your gift to be used
3. Let Felines & Friends NM know of your intentions
Stock Donations
Donating stocks allows you to avoid capital gains tax and may allow you to take a charitable deduction for the full value of the asset. Use this FreeWill online stock tool to donate stock to Felines & Friends NM.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
If you are 70.5 or older, giving from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) can help reduce your taxable income -- and for those over 73 who must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), an IRA gift is a simple way to fulfill it! Use this FreeWill QCD tool to auto-complete the paperwork to give to Felines & Friends NM from your IRA.
Cryptocurrency
Felines & Friends now accepts donations of Ethereum, Bitcoin, and other cryptocurrencies! This gives us one more way to fund our work and can provide you with extra tax benefits. Give Cryptocurrency today.
